Here is what Stan had to say:

Installed 3000 watts of solar this past summer.  Purchased 3 different color spools, 350′ each of #8 THHN for the connection to the Controller. Having access to different color coded wire made the job that much easier to install.  This also has #6 THHN wire that I purchased going to my critical load panel which is supplied by a battery back up, if the grid looses power.

Here is what Lonney had to say about the photo:

This will run my 5th wheel RV on 120 volts while we go boondocking or dry camping out west also I built a slide out drawer to carry the AGM batteries, there will be a total of 6 batteries.

The verdict is in and the 2nd place winner for Wire And Cable Your Way’s February Photo Contest is William Wemesfelder who submitted the pic above.

10/3 SOOW Portable Cord for Isolated Power Distribution In a Laboratory

Here is what Richard had to say about the picture above:

These are taken inside our Inertial Electrostatic Confinement Fusion laboratory.  The 10/3 SOOW Portable cords are carrying power from an isolation transformer via 3 circuit-breaker boxes to experimental apparatus located around the laboratory.  This system was installed so that all of our apparatus and associated equipment could be put on the same designated ground point.

It’s always exciting for us here at Wire And Cable Your Way to see the different types of wire and cable our customers use for solar power applications.

Recently, we received a few photos from our customer Roger in California whose company sells solar hot water systems.

Roger uses our 10/3 SJEOOW Portable Cord – 300v  (see above) which connects to the solar hot water system. Once connected the SJEOOW Cord helps bring power from the six solar PV panels (see below) down to the hot water system.

Sending a thanks to our customer, James, for sending us this photo depicting the trench dug between his barn and his service pole.  We like the angle of this photo and how it captures two main points of connection – the barn and the service pole.  James purchased our THHN Copper Building Wire for the connection and ran it through a conduit which will then be laid in the trench seen above.
